I've always wanted a golden since I was a kid. I had never gotten a dog from a breeder before and had heard all the horror stories of puppy mills and unethical breeders. So I was very cautious on which breeder to go with. I looked at breeders from all over the country and found that there were all sorts of breeders out there. Those with generations of varying pedigrees, show dogs, hunting dogs, all sorts really. When I came across Hali and Carol's post on the AKC website I got excited. I loved how their post said "We really do hope you buy a Golden from us but even if you don't...we still hope you buy a Golden!" I just loved that, so I gave them a call and am so happy I did.
After talking Carol and Hali for 5 minutes I could tell they were different. I could tell they weren't just in it for the money which some of the other breeders seem to be. Both retired, they're hobby breeders. Meaning they breed goldens because they flat out love it, and it shows in how much they love their puppies and their puppies parents, of course. I can honestly say, I've never met a duo who loves their dogs quite as much as these two. Just take a look at their YouTube channel. I sent the videos to friends and family and just knew I found the right breeder.
Given that I have a slight obsession with the color orange, I had to go with, you guessed it, Mr. Orange. He is such an amazing, loving, sweet, HAPPY dog. It's weird, but I really owe a lot of his personality to how he was raised in his first 3 months. I just picked up the torch from Hali and Carol and ran with it. Carol and Hali give these dogs so much gosh darn love from the day they're born that they know their role from birth—to give love, be loved, and love others.

Carol and Hali are the most lovely human beings I have ever met. I went with them because they keep the dogs for a longer time to ensure nurturing and love. I’ve never been so happy with an experience or the personality of a puppy. Jolene is so sweet and calm and has helped me with my anxiety immensely just by existing. The pricing is fair and I love how they’ve been loved. I would recommend them for companionship or service animals . They’re all beautiful and love to be loved and that’s because of Carol and Hali.
If you’re looking for a golden one, this is the best place to go. I cannot express how kind they are and how much love they put into their pups.

Mr Orange Is an amazing dog and we are truly blessed to have one of your very special Pups 🐶🌈 It’s evident that the time you’ve spent loving, cuddling and training your pups has resulted in positive, healthy personalities with an eagerness to learn and please. We wished all breeders demonstrated the love and dedication you women exhibit. This dog is chill with a great, playful disposition. He will continue to be groomed to handle fun, recreational and safe outdoor activities, like fishing, camping, Over-Landing and swimming in lakes and at he beach!! I plan to pick up Mr. Purple next weekend sometime between July 30-August 1st. I will let you know the exact date as we get closer.

”My wife and I are both first-time dog owners. We never owned a dog before. When we promised our older son to get him a dog for his 10th birthday, we didn't know where to begin. So, we ordered books and did some research online. In the end, we decided that it was time to go and meet some dog owners and their puppies. We drove from San Jose one early Saturday morning and visited 8 dog breeders which we had lined up before. We visited a few cities in the San Joaquin Valley (Hilmar, Turlock, Merced, Manteca, Lodi, etc.) and met up with the breeders, some good some not so good. We visited Carol & Hali and then we went on to our other appointment. In the end, we decided to come back to them since they were the most genuine dog lovers among all of the dog owners we had met that day.. and of course they had one great puppy which we really liked. Carol & Hali truly care about their litter and their long-term wellbeing. As breeders, they are picky when it comes to who they would sell their puppies to. They ask pointed questions as to make sure the puppy is truly wanted and cared for. The sales contract they offer is unlike most other contracts which is purely transactional... the wellbeing of the puppy is central in their contract. They cared so much for the puppy that they even took him back for a few days as we went on a short trip where no pets were allowed. I highly recommend getting your new Golden Retriever puppy from Carol & Hali...you can be rest assured that your puppy has been cared for with love!”

We adopted a female golden retriever, age 12 weeks, from Hali and Carol and are extremely satisfied. The breeders cared more for the welfare of their puppies than just getting a sale. The breeders are knowledgeable, caring and really know their dogs. Our puppy was already crate trained and in excellent health. We highly recommend Carol and Hali.

We decided we wanted to get a golden retriever puppy so I started looking online. There are so many breeders. I contacted one and she said they had puppies and 3 other litters due soon. I called my husband who cautioned me that there are many shady breeders online. I had heard of puppy mills and I knew I did not want that. Onto more research... When I found Living Hugs, I knew I wanted to see these puppies as the reviews sounded so lovely. So, we made a trip to see them. Oh my gosh they were so cute. How would I be able to choose???? The breeders, Carol and Hali were wonderful. I was sent insightful descriptions of each of these fur babies. They are individually known. These are not puppy mill puppies, they are in a home setting getting personal love and care. The puppies were so lively and happy. I could tell the most important thing was finding good homes for these babies. We came home with Miss purple, who we named Bella. She is pure delight and oh so smart! She learned to sit on command the second day home. I enjoy reaching out to Carol and Hali with pictures of our growing fur baby. They have sent me care information. And I know, should I need their help with something they would be more than happy to help. We would highly recommend Living Hugs!!
